How it all started

 As mothers of children in secondary school, we realised that our children had no place to meet and socialise with teenagers with similar beliefs and values. 

We wanted our children to grow up to be confident Muslims, with high self-esteem, confidence and sense of belonging to their community. The children needed a safe space to express themselves, talk openly about their struggles and learn new skills  whilst making friends and having fun at the same time. This is why we decided to start the HAYA youth club and provide this for our community of Redbridge. 

Our aim is to empower girls to embrace their culture and British Muslim identity, and take care of their mental and physical health, through fun and diverse activities and games, open discussions and field trips.
